Why Bloodshed ?

I received some emails (not many) asking why did i choose Bloodshed for my software name, thus i decided to write a small message about it.

First i would like to say that i am not a satanist, that i hate violence/war (i'm a total pacifist ;) and that heavy metal / hard-rock music is not really my cup of tea.
I am french, but I do know the meaning of the "Bloodshed" word, and i use this name because it simply doesn't sound like a software company name.
If you are offended by the name, i feel very sorry but it would be a big mess to change it now.

Anyway, Bloodshed is just for irony, did you think a site called Bloodshed would be about what you find at www.bloodshed.net ?

Here is are some good remarks on the Bloodshed name i received :
I assumed that this was a reference to the time and effort it requires of you to make these nice software programs, a la "Blood, Sweat and Tears".

Anyone that doesn't get the name bloodshed has obviously never had to learn coding the hard way, or spent hours tracking down some stupid syntax or logic error.

Peace and freedom,
